
New on-call recruits welcomed into the Service at pass-out parade
Following a successful recruitment campaign and subsequent training programme, the 11 new firefighters are joining crews based at either the Western or Town stations.

The Health and Safety Inspectorate have now completed their onsite investigation at Elizabeth Villas, Mont Pinel, following the incident on the night of 26 June 2024.
Loss adjusters are now able to access the properties at Elizabeth Villas to help the families and their insurers begin to rebuild and return to their homes.
It is reasonable to conclude that an explosion occurred due to ignition of a mixture of a flammable gas and air that accumulated within the property.
This determination forms only part of the initial investigations, therefore no further comment can be made at this time.
The Health and Safety Inspectorate’s investigation, determining why this incident took place, is ongoing.
