As strategic members of Child Accident Prevention Jersey, we run a fire safety stage during Safety in Action week, which almost every Year 5 student attends to learn essential life safety skills.

During our Safety in Action sessions, Year 5 students are taught:

• about escape plans
• the importance of closing doors
• how to travel through smoke
• about smoke alarms and testing your smoke alarm
• to get out, stay out, call 999
• about hazards in the home
