In the event of an emergency call 999
Firefighters in three appliances, including an on-call crew, and a duty manager, were called to Police Headquarters on Route du Fort at approximately 11:15pm last night.
A fire had broken out in the server room.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the room and began to tackle the fire. The automatic fire suppression system efficiently activated, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
Colleagues prepared to leave the building as part of a progressive evacuation, however this was stood down as the fire was put out.
This included those working in the Emergency Services Control Centre, who were ready to move to the back-up facility at the States of Jersey Ambulance Service Headquarters.
There was no disruption to incoming 999 calls.
No one was injured in the incident.
We are proud to welcome JJ Lloyd, Colin Brady, Bethany Moisan, and Stephen Reed to the States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service as our new on-call firefighters.
To mark International Control Room Week, we are raising awareness of what information you need to make a 999 call and what the control room operator will ask.
