On Tuesday 24 February 2026, more than 40 of our dedicated on-call firefighters took part in a high intensity, three-hour drill at the former Oaklands Lodge site.
Led by Crew Commander Harry Matthews, the session focused on tactical firefighting and smoke reading techniques, alongside a range of essential firefighting skills.

This kind of hands-on training is vital in ensuring our on-call crews remain ready to respond confidently and effectively to real emergencies.
