Tunnel closed tonight for smoke test

A smoke test will take place in the tunnel this evening from 7pm, reopening at 6am tomorrow morning (Wednesday 22 January).

Islanders seeing smoke coming out of the tunnel do not need to be alarmed.

The test simulates the smoke generated from a fire, helping Infrastructure and Envionrment colleagues to understand the requirements for future safety improvements to the tunnel.
