
New on-call recruits welcomed into the Service at pass-out parade
Following a successful recruitment campaign and subsequent training programme, the 11 new firefighters are joining crews based at either the Western or Town stations.

Earlier today, approximately 25 firefighters dealt with a structure fire at an office building on the Esplanade.
Four appliances were initially deployed, along with an aerial ladder platform and a command support unit.
The fire was on the 6th floor of the building and two people were rescued, unharmed, from a lift on the ground floor.
No injuries have been reported, and the building was fully evacuated.
The cause of the fire is as yet unknown and will be subject to an investigation in due course.
