At 06.33 this morning, two fire engines from Town Headquarters responded to reports of a fire in a boiler cupboard in a property.
Two Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and extinguished a small fire within an airing cupboard.
On this occasion, a working smoke alarm within the property alerted the occupant to the presence of smoke and undoubtably saved them from further harm.
If you are struggling for a gift for a friend or relative this Christmas, buy them something that could save their life and get them a smoke alarm.
