
New on-call recruits welcomed into the Service at pass-out parade
Following a successful recruitment campaign and subsequent training programme, the 11 new firefighters are joining crews based at either the Western or Town stations.

At approximately 11:15am this morning, firefighters from Green Watch were called to a vehicle on fire at the bottom of Mont Cochon in St Lawrence.
While it was an electric vehicle, there is no evidence that the high-voltage electric battery – which would replace a fuel-powered car’s engine – was involved.
The fire was concentrated under the bonnet and was quickly extinguished.
Following the usual checks, the vehicle was handed over to recovery agents and the road was reopened.
