In the event of an emergency call 999
Our latest wholetime firefighter recruits have now completed their initial training and will join their respective watches from Monday.
We are delighted to see how diligently and professionally Firefighters Brandon Parker, George Lozinschi and John Martin have worked over the past few weeks to get up to speed with what’s required of our crews.
All three firefighters have previous experience ranging between two and five years as on-call crews based either in town or at Western station. Additionally, Firefighter Parker returns to Jersey following 18-months as a wholetime firefighter in Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
Described by the new recruits as ‘much more in-depth’, this training has focused on the roles not covered by on-call firefighters, including rope rescue and crewing the Inshore Rescue Boat.

States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service received an emergency call on Monday 20 October to rescue George when he took a tumble off the cliff path.
