National Student Fire Safety Week

This week is National Student Fire Safety Week. Have you just started university, or do you know someone who has? 

We want to remind all students about the importance of staying fire-safe during their time away from home. 

• Cooking mishaps are a major cause of fires in student accommodation, and distractions can lead to disaster. Remember, safety comes first in the kitchen! 
• Test your smoke alarms regularly 
• Stay focused when cooking 
• Do not overload sockets 
• Know your escape routes
