
New on-call recruits welcomed into the Service at pass-out parade
Following a successful recruitment campaign and subsequent training programme, the 11 new firefighters are joining crews based at either the Western or Town stations.

At approximately 2.30pm Jersey Fire & Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at a St Saviour home.
One fire appliance responded initially and quickly extinguished the fire using a high-pressure hose reel. The crew were quickly supplemented by another fire engine that worked to clear the property from smoke.
Thankfully the damage was limited due to the owner closing the door from the fire to the main house, and quickly calling 999. They were alerted by working smoke alarms.

Matt Roberts set off at 4pm on Easter Saturday and ran for 23 hours to complete the challenge.
