It is wonderful news that the concerned group were able to locate Lily, and she is now out of harm's way, however, we watched the video with hearts in our mouths.
We are rigorously trained and equipped to conduct rescues in this environment and are fully aware of the very real risks it poses.
The person in the footage took a significant risk in getting down to her, with no safety equipment whatsoever.

This event could very easily have become a human rescue too.
In similar circumstances, please call 999 and ask for the Fire Service. Our highly trained Rope Rescue Team will be there to help.
